Detroit Lions NEWS

Consistency Remains the Key for Coach Marinelli

Head Coach Rod Marinelli said it would happen, but many were skeptical. First he put the team on a discipline and accountability-packed program, mixing in confidence and belief. Then he said the magic ingredient would be time.

Needless to say, outsiders wanted to believe him, but it was tough as the losses continued to pile up. The team’s first win against Buffalo in Week 6 gave spectators and the media a boost but the loss at New York the following week made many doubt once again.

The Lions then returned from a bye to critics who said Detroit could never overcome the top-notch running offense of Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons. So what happened? They proved they have what it takes to win in all facets of the game.
