MichiganToday.net™ and Michigan Today Network (MTN)™ in conjunction with The Arts League of Michigan are proud to present “Kenn Cox and Drum” concert documentary shot on location at the 2006 Detroit Festival of Arts to be aired exclusively on MichiganToday.net™  Detroit’s own legendary Kenn Cox Quintet performs their original “Island Song” and a medley of pulsating percussion improvisations showcasing an exuberantly vibrant fine arts celebration - The Detroit Festival of Arts.  Detroit’s rich cultural diversity comes alive through artistic impression in unorthodox media including exotic hair creations, animated sand sculptures, vivacious chalk art and broadly stylistic performing arts genre.

The Arts League of Michigan is a Center that develops, promotes, presents and preserves the African and African American cultural arts traditions within our multi-cultural community.  Current programs include:  “The Artists Mentorship Program” a year-round arts training program for youth.  “Art for the People” a visual and performing arts presenting program that engages audiences of all ages.  Performing arts includes “Jazz at the Center” a series of jazz concerts and “All that Jazz”.  Touring visual art exhibitions are “Rock My Soul” and “Freedom”.
